We all have different ideas about perimeter security: some associate the notion with fences or barbed wire, while others think of armed security guards or visualise electronic security systems – which is not accidental. Equipment and solutions used in perimeter security are diverse and can be applied effectively only if multiple solutions are concurrently applied, taking in consideration the special features of the location and environment to be secured.

#1 Buried intrusion detection system

For those clients of ours who do not want to see any sensors or objects in their beautiful garden suggesting the presence of a security system, our intrusion detection sensors placed under the ground provide an ideal solution. Sensors placed at the depth of 60 centimetres detect the person walking on the surface precisely, while the lawn above is just as green as some metres away. Vibrations made by irrigation systems, rain or wind do not cause false or unwanted alarms.

How does it work?

The system consists of geoseismic sensors which detect those vibrations (seismic waves) which are generated by the steps of a passer-by. The sensors use two different communication channels, thus sensors located next to each other on the chain detect the passer-by concurrently and send information to the signal processing unit parallelly. Alert is activated only when two sensors next to each other give signals to the processing unit. Due to this and the precise signal processing, environmental noises do not cause false alarms at all, however, the system detects each crossing.

What elements does it consist of?

The intrusion detection system consists of a geoseismic detection chain and a signal processing unit. Sensors are available in 10, 30 and 50 meters pre-wired strings. Sensor chains with different length enable us to create the security system in a way that adopts to the given location.

What are the advantages?

Since sensor chains are located 60 centimetres below the ground, each general garden work can be carried out smoothly even after the system is installed. Greater installation depth than that of competing products guarantees that change of the quantity of rain and other weather conditions do not influence the precise operation of the system. #2 Intrusion detection sensors under concrete surfaces

Most of the time owners do not want to place sensors on the facade or walls of a magnificent building, let alone in the garden or on the fence. Nevertheless, safety is important due to the values inside the building and for the sake of the loved ones of the owner. In such cases we suggest those intrusion detection sensors which can be placed under concrete surfaces or below stone curbs around the house where they set off every time when somebody steps close to the doors, windows or the wall. They can be placed under tiles of terraces, in stairs, or they can be built in the top of wide fence walls, or under driveways.

What elements does it consist of?

Similarly to intrusion detection sensors built in the soil, those which can be installed under concrete surfaces are also made of piesoseismic detecting modules. Sensors are placed on the base concrete in a way that each one is in the middle of a special 50×50 centimetres rubber sheet. Elements fixed this way are covered in 6-10 centimetres thick concrete layer (relative to the level of the rubber sheet). Tiles can be placed on this surface; it does not influence responsiveness of the system.

What are the advantages?

Sensors under concrete surface resist weather conditions and pets do not cause false alarms. They are invisible and since they are not common, the intruder probably does not count on such detecting.

#3 Fence security systems

An enclosed area itself does not guarantee the repression of intruding attempts. Within the enclosed area there might be a precious family house, office building, storage – and they have one thing in common; they represent some value to somebody. How does it work?

We distribute two fence protection systems engaging two different technologies.
QUADROSENSE One of these systems consists of a quickly, cost efficiently installable, passive (not using electricity) cable and a control board able to process incoming signals. One processing unit can control four sensor sections, 250 metres long each. Sensitivity of each section (zones) can be set separately, alerts come from the whole section, the system is unable to define the exact location of intrusion. It can be used on woven wire fencing and spot-welded boarded fences.


The passive cable technology cannot be applied on all types of fences and as it has already been mentioned, it does not provide the exact location of intrusion. However, combined sensors – which unite the advantages of piesodynamic modules and MEMS sensors – are capable of securing fences made of hollow sections, wrought iron, concrete or bricks, as well as fences made of light wire net or spot-welded boards. Sensors are manufactured in strings, placed at different lengths from each other in compliance with the length of the fence segments (2 – 2.5 – 3 metres), and can be fixed quickly and efficiently on any surface. The sensitivity of each sensor can be set separately, thus one sensor string can be used to secure multiple types of fences. Signal processing takes place in one unit, which can be connected to any conventional alarm unit by relay output; or the condition of detectors and the exact location of the alerts can be displayed by means of a map supervision software. One control board is capable of securing 1.5 kilometres of fence.

What elements does it consist of?

Whether passive sensor cable or sophisticated sensor chains are used, information arriving from these sensor elements always have to be forwarded to a signal processing unit. Since most of the time this unit cannot be placed right next to the fence, a suitable cable shall be applied which ensures the flow of information from each sensor section to the signal processing unit. So called signal transmitter cables are used for this purpose, and they guarantee the precise signal transmission between 150-200 meters, depending on the type of the system.

What are the advantages?

The great advantage of combined sensors is that plants around the fence or attached to the fence do not cause any disturbance in detecting. #4 Electric fences

For those clients of ours who consider signals provided by each perimeter security detector insufficient, we suggest such solution which – apart from passive detecting – provides active protection as well. Apart from the fact that an electric fence detects intrusion attempts, it causes an unpleasant electric shock upon touch. Efficiency of protection is greater not only because of the electric shock upon attempting intrusion, but also because of the dissuading effect of the electricfence against the traditional sensors or surveillance system.

How does it work?

The electric fence is placed above or on the inner side of the already existing fence, but it has to be ensured that persons passing by along the outer side of the fence cannot touch it. Non-lethal, high voltage impulses run along the special aluminium alloy wires. Insofar as a person touches any of the wires, apart from the unpleasant experience, an alarm will be detected in the system.

What elements does it consist of?

The energy provider supplies the high voltage impulses and detects broken wire and short-circuit. Both cases constitute an alert, since broken wire might be a result of cutting, while a short-circuit may arise during an attempt to climb over the fence and thereby crossing the cables. The aluminium alloy wires are kept at certain distance from metal poles or fences by so called isolators. #5 Thermal imaging camera and video analytics

Nowadays no surveillance system can exist without information technology devices and applications. Video analytical units integrated in cameras or placed in a separate unit are able to analyse picture changes provided by the cameras and if necessary, they can generate alerts as well. There is a wide range of such video analytical products, but we focus on a restricted segment thereof, i.e. modules used in perimeter security.

How does it work?

We position cameras placed at the secured area in a way that a virtual defence line is formed parallel with the installed detectors. In case of a fence equipped with sensors, each side can be detected lengthways if cameras are placed at the corners of the fence. We can enhance the efficiency of the system by settings that enable the system to generate a so called pre-alert when the virtual line along the fence is crossed.

What elements does it consist of?

When a perimeter virtual security system – based on video analytics – is installed, picking the proper tools is just as important as it is when using a system based on physical sensors. Based on many years’ experience, we suggest only the use of thermal imaging cameras, which provide reliable images under all visibility and weather conditions. Thermal imaging cameras are available at a price affordable for the public.

#6 Microwave barriers

For years we have been suggesting to use microwave sensors to properly secure large areas. We have had experience in the development and application of these sensors since 2007, thus we know the advantages of using microwave detectors.

How does it work?

The microwave detection units consist of a transmitter and a receiver module. The transmitter emits low energy microwave radiation towards the receiver module, thus forming an extended cigar- shaped detection zone between the two modules. If somebody crosses the detection zone, the receiver signal level decreases, which generates an alert in the detector. We offer detectors operating at two different frequencies – 10.5 Ghz and 24 Ghz models. The higher frequency provides a narrower detecting lane, while 10,5 Ghz sensors usually provide a more economical solution.

What are the advantages?

Microwave detectors – as opposed to active infrared barrier deploying optical principles – are immune to environmental disturbances. Heavy raining, snowing or fog do not influence operation. Slow growth of undergrowth does not cause a problem up to 30 centimetres (we suggest regular mowing and maintenance, since high undergrowth may influence the operation of sensors under rainy or windy weather conditions). #7 Gate automation and road barriers

Fences and gates form important physical obstacles around a certain area. Be it a double wing garden gate or a sliding door of industrial scale, quick and reliable opening is necessary to ensure controlled and smooth entrance (drive in). We have been dealing with professional gate technology since 2004. Barriers manufactured by our factory are the most popular ones in Hungary.
